This
sculpture stands where the back entrance of the US Embassy was; it’s made up of
remains from the blast. The terrorist truck exploded about 3ft which is
approximately 94 cm form where the sculpture now stands.
It is
designed by a renowned artist Mary Collis. The three faces of the sculpture show
that people were injured or affected by the bomb in three aspects mind, body
and spirit.
The park was built as a memorial to the
innocent people killed in the August 7th 1998 bombing of the
American Embassy that used to stand on this site. It was built as;
· A memorial to the innocent who lost their lives.
· A garden of solace.
· A tribute to the courage of those who have coped with injuries
sustained and /or the loss of a loved one.
